Galeria de Arquitectura
[PT] Fundada em 2016, no Porto, a Galeria de Arquitectura surgiu da vontade de criação de um pólo cultural, independente, que expressasse a Arquitectura e os assuntos que envolvem a disciplina e se debruçasse pelas múltiplas formas de fazer arquitetura e produzir pensamento. As exposições, apresentações e debates, procuram, desde então, fomentar a reflexão transdisciplinar e a antecipação de temas ou problemáticas da contemporaneidade arquitectónica. Contando com múltiplas colaborações de outras disciplinas, geografias, e linguagens, a Galeria de Arquitectura apresenta-se como uma plataforma que promove o diálogo e a discussão a partir da Arquitetura, assumidamente aberta à comunidade, à cidade e ao mundo.
Sedeada num micro-espaço, mas com uma enorme janela voltada para o passeio público da cidade do Porto, a Galeria de Arquitectura expõe Arquitectura como um exercício de pensar a própria disciplina e os seus limites. A partir do cruzamento com outras áreas e incluindo a abordagem da disciplina por práticas emergentes, exploratórias ou periféricas, este é um espaço de exposição, reflexão, debate e inovação, focado no confronto de ideias de Arte, Arquitectura, Design, Cidade e Território. Esta publicação assinala os seus 6 anos de programação.
[EN] Founded in 2016 in Porto, the Architecture Gallery arose from the desire to create an independent cultural centre that expresses Architecture and the issues involving the discipline, and focuses on the multiple ways of making architecture and producing thought. Since then, the exhibitions, presentations and debates have sought to foster transdisciplinary reflection and the anticipation of themes or problems emerging from contemporary architecture. Relying on multiple collaborations from other disciplines, geographies, and languages, the Architecture Gallery presents itself as a platform that promotes dialogue and discussion based on architecture, outspokenly open to the community, the city and the world.
Located in a micro-space, but with a huge window facing a public promenade in the city of Porto, the Architecture Gallery exposes architecture as an exercise in thinking about the discipline itself and its limits. Based on the intersection with other areas and including the approach towards the discipline through emerging, exploratory or peripheral practices, this is a space for exhibition, reflection, debate and innovation, focused on the exchange of ideas in Art, Architecture, Design, City and Territory.
